About the Image
A photograph of Anderton’s Oyster Bar, a Memphis establishment that has since disappeared, capturing a fragment of the city’s past. The title is a nod to Blue Öyster Cult’s iconic 1976 hit Don't Fear the Reaper, a song whose haunting melody feels fitting for a place that exists now only in memory. There is something quietly evocative about buildings that have vanished, their stories surviving long after the doors have closed. A portrait of a lost corner of Memphis, preserved in time.
